Since the traditional mirror, which was made of glass with a silver coating at backside, was invented by German chemist. Justus von Liebig in 19th century, there has been no revolutionary innovation until Brisafe developed the glassless mirror with 0.04mm thickness. Compared to other many alternatives, which may bear some limitations, such as low-defination, being likely to be distorted , limitation on small size and the low popularity due to the high cost, Brisafe’s glassless mirror is a totally new technological product with non-glass material and the advantages of no distortion, no chromatic aberration, super lightweight and shatterproof.
Shanghai Brisafe Technology Co., Ltd was founded in 2015. Brisafe has been working on the research and development of a shatterproof, lightweight and eco-friendly glassless mirror since its establishment, especially after several serious physical injury accidents happened due to the falling of heavy mirrors. Brisafe eventually successfully developed the glassless lightweight mirrors in 2019 after overcoming plenty of difficulties in materials and techniques, and soon afterwards set up a factory with an area of 2000 square meters and a show room in Shanghai in the same year. Since then, the glassless mirror has started its journey of bringing more families a better life.
Brisafe is devoted to the research and development of the materials and technology for the lightweight and shatterproof glassless mirrors, launching a series of products, such as over the door glassless mirror, foldable glassless mirror, magnet glassless mirror, wooden frame glassless mirror and etc., which completely break through the limitations of fragileness and heaviness of the traditional mirrors. Introduction to the Background and Main Character
The story is originated from three men from common families, who are going to change the tradition. It is also a story about three men who have always held fast to technique innovation and practicality despite of many times of failures. It is more a story of three men who have a strong sense of social responsibility and mission. They have always been persisting in one single but not common thing, which brings a better and happier life to more and more common families.
A Tragedy That Sparked a Mission
The whole story was sparked by a few safety accidents caused by the falling of traditional heavy mirrors, some of which are involved with little children. Our three hosts discussed this issue over a dinner and they all detested it thoroughly and one of them raised a question “why can not we develop a kind of glassless mirror which is lightweight, shatterproof and eco-friendly?” Out of the responsibility as fathers and to avoid this kind of accidents happened again, they were determined to face the challenge and to change the life, and set out to do the research and development of glassless mirrors in 2015.
Early Struggles and Challenges
Like all the pioneers, there were a lot of challenges and frustration at the beginning, for example, the reflectivity and the user experience are not so satisfactory. Isn’t there a better alternative for the glass mirror? When the team were at a loss, tragedies kept coming, a six-year-old girl lost her life due to the falling of a three-meter-high mirror in a Shanghai mall, and another one happened in Singapore Changi Airport soon after and the victim was a little girl of only 18 months.
Renewed Resolve and Breakthrough
These two tragedies inspired the strong sense of social responsibility of the team again and they finally developed a lightweight, shatterproof, and eco-friendly glassless mirror in 2019 after overcoming various difficulties of materials and techniques through continuous researches and experiments.
The Creation of a Revolutionary Product
Using ultra-thin polymer mirror film of only 0.04mm thickness and under the special techniques developed by Brisafe, the team developed a truly shatterproof glassless mirror with great reflection. The reflection of this mirror is much better than that of the traditional mirror, besides, it is much lighter and safer. After the launching, the mirror wins a lot of popularity. And now there are professional sales teams in America, Japan and China. In Japan, among the 10 pieces of the glassless mirrors sold in the market, three pieces are from Brisafe.
